NightSherpa is the $49 thing you do before you spend $500.

More data. More informed. More in control.

Most people find out they have a sleep problem from the person selling them the solution. Before you commit to anything, get your own data.

Start Your Study — $49

Prepaid return mailer included. No subscription. No diagnosis.

Here’s how it usually goes.

Doctor recommends a sleep study.

You go to a clinic, wear a device for one night, and call it done.

They tell you that’s enough data.

And offer to sell you a $1,500–$3,500 CPAP.

You leave with a diagnosis but no real understanding of your options.

What about mouthguards? Positional therapy? Over-the-counter solutions? Nobody mentioned those.

There are people in the mild-to-moderate range who never hear about mouthguards, positional therapy, or over-the-counter solutions. NightSherpa doesn’t sell any of them. We just give you the data.

Four simple steps

Order online

We ship a Wellue O2Ring with everything you need, including a prepaid return envelope.

Wear it overnight

Put it on before bed. The ViHealth app records everything automatically.

Email your data

Each morning, export the CSV from ViHealth and email it to your personal study address. We walk you through it.

Get your report

After your last night, we generate your multi-night report. Usually within an hour.

Your numbers, explained.

Oxygen saturation metrics

Mean SpO2, minimum SpO2, and time spent below 88%, 90%, and 92% thresholds. With plain-English explanations of what each means.

Oxygen Desaturation Index (ODI)

How many times per hour your oxygen dropped by 3% or more. One of the key numbers doctors look at. Now you’ll know yours before anyone tells you what to do about it.

Heart rate patterns

Mean, min, and max heart rate across the night, broken down by hour.

Reference ranges from published literature are included so you know where your numbers sit — without anyone telling you what to do about it.

Before you spend thousands, know your options.

Most people in the mild-to-moderate range have more options than they realize. Here’s what most sleep clinics don’t spend much time on:

Positional therapy

Many people only have issues when sleeping on their back. A positional device or even a tennis ball sewn into a shirt can make a meaningful difference.

Mandibular advancement devices

Over-the-counter mouthguards (and custom-fit versions from a dentist) can reduce airway obstruction. Far cheaper than a CPAP and worth exploring for mild-to-moderate cases.

Weight and lifestyle

Even modest weight reduction can significantly reduce obstruction severity. Worth knowing your baseline before and after any lifestyle changes.

Alcohol and sedatives

Both relax throat muscles and can meaningfully worsen nighttime oxygen levels. Your NightSherpa data can show the difference.

Snoring and sleep tracking apps

Apps like SnoreLab can track snoring patterns and identify positional or behavioral triggers — useful alongside your objective data.

Nasal airway issues

Congestion, deviated septum, and nasal valve collapse can contribute significantly. An ENT evaluation is often overlooked.

NightSherpa doesn’t sell any of these. We have no financial stake in what you decide. We just think you should know your options.

What NightSherpa is — and isn’t

NightSherpa is:

  • A device rental service
  • A data organization tool
  • A report formatting service
  • A way to walk into any conversation knowing your numbers

NightSherpa is not:

  • A medical service
  • A diagnostic tool
  • A substitute for talking to a doctor
  • A replacement for a formal sleep study

NightSherpa does not provide medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider about your health.

Common questions

Is this a medical device or service?
No. NightSherpa is a data rental and organization service. We are not a medical provider, and our reports are not medical reports. Always consult your doctor about your health.
What device is included?
We rent the Wellue O2Ring, a consumer pulse oximeter that records SpO2 and pulse rate data overnight via Bluetooth to the ViHealth app on your smartphone.
Do I need a smartphone?
Yes. You will need the ViHealth app (iOS or Android) paired with the device to record and export your data.
How do I send my data?
Each morning after wearing the device, open the ViHealth app, export the previous night’s data as a CSV file, and email it to the contact address we provide. We walk you through every step.
When will I receive my report?
After you email us your final night’s data and click ‘I’m done,’ we generate your report within an hour. We’ll email you when it’s ready.
What if my data looks incomplete?
Some nights of recording may have data gaps due to device movement or contact issues. We note the recording quality for each night in your report. If a night has very limited data, we recommend an additional night of recording — contact us and we’ll work with you.
How is this different from a clinic sleep study?
Those services are trying to diagnose you and recommend a treatment plan — which often means selling you equipment. NightSherpa is what you do first. Get your own multi-night data, understand what your numbers mean, and walk into any conversation — with a clinic, a specialist, or your GP — knowing what you’re looking at.
What are my options if my numbers are in the mild-to-moderate range?
More than most people realize. Positional therapy, OTC or custom mouthguards, lifestyle changes, nasal airway evaluation, and behavioral adjustments can all make a meaningful difference before committing to a CPAP or other treatment. See our ‘Before you spend thousands’ section above for a rundown.
